Characteristics of 1.3500/15
The 3500 rack can accommodate one or two AC and DC power supplies in any combination. The entire rack can be powered by any power source. When two power supplies are placed in the rack, one in the bottom slot is used as the main power supply, while the other in the higher slot is used as the backup power supply. If a second power source is installed, it serves as a backup power source for the first power source. As long as a second power supply is installed, removing or inserting any power module will not affect the operation of the rack. AC and DC power sources accept various input voltages and convert them into voltages that can be used by other 3500 modules. The 3500 series mechanical protection system is equipped with the following power supplies:
Universal AC power supply
High voltage DC power supply
Low voltage DC power supply
compatibility
The Legacy 3500 AC power supply, high voltage AC PIM, and low voltage AC PIM are not compatible with universal AC power supply and PIM (power input module).
Legacy 3500 high and low voltage DC power supply and PIM cannot be used together with high and low voltage DC power supply and PIM.
